Mitsubishi Planning to Increase Outlander Model Prices
Mitsubishi, which is a Hindustan Motors, is increasing the price of the new Outlander from September 1, 2010. There will be 1.5 – 2% hike in the initial price which was initially 19.95 lacs. This is mainly due to increasing appreciation of Japanese Yen against Indian Rupee & also due to rising input costs.
Mitsubishi Outlander is the car for the sports loving people. So those who are crazy for sports car, this is a good option. It accommodates 5 people comfortably. According to the capacity, it gives a good mileage of 11km/lt on highway & 8km/lt on city road. It comes in 7 colors like river blue, Twilight red, Silver Dew, Cascade White, Pasture Green, Moon Black & Sunrise Yellow.
It is a Soft roader car. There is a petrol engine of 2360cc, 16 valve MPI. The dimensions of Mitsubishi are 464cm length, 180 cm width & 168cm height. The kerb weight is 1615 kgs. The safety features include anti brake system & electronic brake distribution. Also, it is provide with the power windows. Further safety features include airbags, first aid kit & security alarms.
There are many good features as far as interiors are considered. The drivers seat can be adjusted very easily & comfortably. One unique feature in it is that there is no keys to open the car. Just by touching the handle of the doors. Also, there is automatic door locking feature & seat belt with 3 point feature. The music system includes 6 CD changer music system, 4 speakers, 4 tweeters with 1 subwoofer.
But now, its priced are being revised. The explanation to this was given by the Executive Vice President who is also the head of Mitsubishi Business at HML, Mr. Y.V.S. Vijay Kumar. According to him, at the time of the launch of outlander, an introductory price along with many advanced features was introduced. But since then, there has been many fluctuations in the terms of Japanese Yen with respect to Indian Rupee. As a result, there has been a hike in the import cost. So, keeping in view this, the price has been decide to increase.
But those who have booked Mitsubishi Outlander till August 31st 2010, will get at the older price only. Company has sold about 150 Outlander 2010 in the month of July with the backlog order of 300 units. They expect to sell more 250 units in the month of August 2010.
